Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Unending Roads (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use unendingroads.com (the “Service”). We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Service, and we never sell your personal data.
1. Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account, we collect your email addressand a securely hashed password, handled by our authentication provider. Creating an account is optional — you can browse the entire directory without one.
Your saved campsites
When you save or favourite campsites, we store those selections against your account so your list is available when you return.
Content and submissions you provide
If you post a review or rating, suggest an edit, submit a new campsite, upload a photo, or claim and manage a listing, we store what you submit so we can display it, review it, and operate those features. Reviews are linked to your account and shown publicly with a display name (see below). When you claim a campsite, we collect the email and any verification details you provide so we can confirm you are authorised to manage it, and we may contact you about the claim.
Technical & usage data
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the Service secure and reliable. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand overall usage; this does not identify you individually.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect or store payment or card details (we don’t process payments), and we do not ask for sensitive personal information. We are not able to see your account password.
3. How we use your information
- to create and maintain your account and keep you signed in;
- to save and display your favourite campsites;
- to publish and moderate reviews, edit suggestions, submissions and owner-managed listing content;
- to verify and manage campsite ownership claims, and to contact you about them;
- to operate, secure, maintain and improve the Service; and
- to respond to enquiries or requests you send us.
4. Information shown publicly
Some things you provide are visible to everyone: reviews and ratings (shown with your display name and the date, not your email), and any listing content, photos, prices or booking links you add as a verified campsite owner. Please don’t include personal information you don’t want to be public in a review or listing. You can ask us to remove your review or content at any time.
5. Cookies & local storage
We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you logged in and to remember your session. These are necessary for account features to work. Embedded third-party components (such as maps) may set their own cookies — see below.
6. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. Limited data may be processed by:
- Authentication & database — to manage your account, saved campsites, reviews, submissions and owner listings.
- Hosting, content delivery & image storage — to serve the website and store uploaded photos securely and quickly.
- Maps & images — embedded maps and hosted images may be loaded from third parties (for example, mapping and image services), which may receive your IP address and set their own cookies as part of delivering that content.
- Booking links — if you click an external booking link, you leave our Service and that third-party platform’s own privacy policy applies.
These providers process data only to deliver their part of the Service, under their own privacy terms.
7. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share information only with the service providers above so the Service can function, or where required to comply with the law or protect our rights.
8. Data retention & deletion
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data — including your reviews and submissions — at any time by emailing support@unendingroads.com, and we will action it within a reasonable time.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and we rely on established providers for authentication and hosting. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you may request to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email support@unendingroads.com.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the “Last updated” date will reflect the latest revision.
13. Contact
